Alaska Airlines, Holland America, the Port of Seattle and the National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration Join Wild Alaska Pollock Annual Meeting Lineup

SEATTLE, Wash.—Executives from Holland America, Alaska Airlines as well as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Regional Administrator and Commission President for the Port of Seattle will join the record crowd attending the annual Wild Alaska Pollock meeting on October 17, 2022, at the Westin Seattle, the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP) announced today. These distinguished speakers will join the over 250 industry representatives already registered to hear from the speakers who are a part of a jam-packed agenda and share their thoughts on the importance of their partnerships with the fishery as well as the future of travel and hospitality in a post-COVID world.
“We always strive to give our Annual Meeting attendees just a little bit of everything and this year our event is not only bigger, but better than ever,” said Craig Morris, Chief Executive Officer of GAPP. “We’re incredibly lucky to have the depth of speakers we have sharing their insights about how we continue to navigate this complex consumer environment and find opportunities for Wild Alaska Pollock—both the fish and the fishery.”
During the morning session, NOAA Regional Administrator Jon Kurland will provide welcoming remarks and discuss the importance of the collaboration between the fishery and the agency since its inception. Later in the morning, Kacy Cole, Vice President of Marketing and E-Commerce with Holland America will join Susan Marks of the Responsible Fishery Management (RFM) Program in a session moderated by Megan Rider of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) to discuss Holland America’s marketing program for Alaska Seafood—including Wild Alaska Pollock—and how important sustainability is becoming to consumers in the hospitality and leisure industries.
In the afternoon, GM of Airline Planning and Network Performance for Alaska Airlines, Kevin Lemme, will share updates from the airline on its Alaska industry capacity growth, general airline growth and booking trends, and what has changed for airline customers throughout the pandemic. Also in the afternoon, Commission President for the Port of Seattle Ryan Calkins will discuss the important relationship between the Port and the Wild Alaska Pollock fleet and what’s coming next as the Port works to continue to advance along with the industries it supports.
Registration for the event is still available—both in-person and virtual attendance registration options can be found on the GAPP website, along with a detailed agenda. The event will begin at 8:00am and last until 5:00pm with a reception to immediately follow for those attending in-person.
