Filet-O-Fish Fireside Chat Added to Wild Alaska Pollock Annual Meeting Agenda

SEATTLE, Wash.—Echoes of “Gimme back that Filet-O-Fish” will be heard as the lead McDonald’s sourcing director for seafood will join the annual Wild Alaska Pollock meeting to be held on October 17, 2022, at the Westin Seattle, the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP) announced today. Jason Cervone, Director of Global Fish and Pork Sourcing with McDonald’s, with oversight responsibility for the Wild Alaska Pollock in the legendary Filet-O-Fish sandwich will share with meeting attendees the latest happenings within the fast-food giant and what’s next for the industry that supplies the famed sandwich.

“For someone who has the ‘Gimme back’ jingle as my ringtone, I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Jason to our agenda and to have the opportunity to pick his brain about all things ‘fast’ food and Filet-O-Fish,” said Craig Morris, Chief Executive Officer of GAPP. “I’m especially curious to hear from Jason about Gen Z and younger consumers and how we as an industry can help McDonald’s stay relevant and craveable for the next generation.”

Cervone, who leads McDonald’s sourcing for global fish among other commodities including global pork, has held various supply chain leadership positions within McDonald’s for almost nine years, giving him an intimate view of the changing quick-serve restaurant space and a deep understanding of the Wild Alaska Pollock industry.

“I’m eager to share my thoughts with the industry that critically supports one of our favorite menu items,” said Cervone. “The consumer has evolved rapidly the last several years and McDonald’s has had to evolve as a result. I’m excited to look back and look forward with the leaders in an industry that’s so important to us.”

Cervone will join GAPP CEO Morris on stage for a Fireside Chat during the afternoon’s sessions. The event will begin at 8:00am and last until 5:00pm with a reception to immediately follow. Information about the event’s theme and a detailed agenda is available on the GAPP website.
