Round 3: North American Partnership Funding Details Release

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON—September 19, 2019—The Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP) continues to encourage applications for the third round of funding under its North American Partnership Program. GAPP has fully $1.7 million available for this third round of funding under the program. All proposals are due to GAPP by October 1st, and will then be reviewed by the appropriate GAPP Committee and the Board of Directors. Final funding announcements will be made no later than December 15th.

“The first two rounds of North American Partnerships have been an unparalleled success for the Wild Alaska Pollock industry,” said Craig Morris, GAPP Chief Executive Officer. “We look forward to continuing to build partnerships with new companies that are as passionate about Wild Alaska Pollock as we are and see the untapped potential this perfect protein has in the domestic market.”

GAPP welcomes proposals from any organization, in any country, who has a desire to build awareness and demand for Wild Alaska Pollock in the North American marketplace by communicating its storied attributes, with particular focus on bringing this fish into new channels, new formats, and with new influencers and/or recipes. All product inputs will be considered—fillets, surimi, roe, fishmeal or oil.

In April, the GAPP Board of Directors approved over $1 million in funding for the second round of the North American Partnership Program. This substantial investment funded twelve unique projects where each partner submitted proposals bringing equal or greater funds to the table. To date in the first two rounds of the program, GAPP has committed over $1.3 million to 15 different projects aimed at placing Wild Alaska Pollock into new forms, channels, or associated with influencers.

“We can’t wait to see the innovative and exciting proposals that are submitted for this round of funding,” said Morris. “GAPP is here to help companies seize on the incredible potential to build awareness and demand for Wild Alaska Pollock, collectively.”
