International opportunities abound for Wild Alaska Pollock according to experts in significant export markets, the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP) announced today. Those opportunities, and how best to capitalize on them, are questions that will be answered by a panel of overseas marketing representatives for the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) at GAPP’s second-ever Annual Meeting to be held virtually on October 12th.
“Our Board has long encouraged GAPP to think globally when it comes to marketing Wild Alaska Pollock,” said Craig Morris, GAPP CEO. “For us to fully capitalize on our international markets, we must first understand the best opportunities for our fish and working with ASMI’s global experts who are in the field helps us do just that.”
The second annual Wild Alaska Pollock meeting, scheduled to take place on October 12, 2020 from 8:00am to 1:00pm PDT, will be held virtually and will feature a variety of engaging speakers. This panel will be moderated by ASMI’s Senior Director of Global Marketing & Strategy, Hannah Lindoff and feature expert panelists from Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, South America and Eastern Europe.
"We’re excited to partner with GAPP and host this important panel to better equip the industry to understand existing and emerging export markets,” said moderator of the panel, Lindoff. “Wild Alaska pollock fits so well with current consumer desire for easy to prepare, nutritious sources of protein and we look forward to brainstorming with Annual Meeting attendees on how we can do more to promote this fish abroad.”
